Install of Reflexxion's '99-'02 Chevy
Silverado cowl induction hood.

After much debate, I finally decided to install a cowl induction hood on my 2000 Chevy Silverado. I figured it was an easy bolt-on that would give the truck a more aggressive appearance on the nose and I was right! Once I decided to install a cowl hood, the next question was: what brand, type, and style? I went back and forth with the fiber glass and steel hoods and decided to stay with good ole' steel. For one, steel hoods are not only more durable and less susceptible to shipping damage, but they are also less expensive to get painted at the body shop. Fiberglass products are famous for needing lots of prep work before painting, whereas quality steel products do not, well... at least not like fiberglass! After deciding on the type of skin, the next choice was easy... Reflexxion received my dollar vote.
Reflexxion makes all sorts of quality steel products including their popular "Domination Series" steel cowl induction hood. Reflexxion hoods meet OEM criteria for fit and finish as a result of high-quality QS-9000 stamping and USA-made tooling. No wonder it is referred to as "the hood that fits"!
I purchased the hood from Show & Go Custom Automotive, located in Hendersonville, TN, and they did a preliminary install to insure proper fit, prior to sending it to the paint booth. I just happened to be present with my trusty digital camera and took a few snap shots of this easy 20 minute install. The only tools and materials needed are: a 10mm socket and a 30mm socket.
