The definition of smooth comes nowhere close to describing this 1993 Toyota Extended Cab Pickup. Luke and Ella McBee from east Tennessee own this clean eye catching machine and with its smooth lines and killer paint job, this "Toy Cruiser" is probably one of the cleanest Toyota trucks we have seen in a while.

Inside and out this truck has been customized by Luke and a few friends. Beginning with the Suspension, the "Toy Cruiser" was stripped of all stock components to make way for the Cadillac of dynamic suspensions, AirRide. 2500lb Firestone air bags with 2” Belltech dropped spindles were added to the front and 2600lb air bags were added to the rear along with a ladder bar setup, so the 18 inchers on each corner would tuck with ease. 3/8" fast valves and an air tank, below the raised bed, were installed for quick adjustability.

After bagging the truck, Luke was pretty happy about being able to drop the truck and shoot sparks all over Tennessee highways, but why stop there? In order to be part of the world’s lowest, you have gotta go extreme and get that nose as close to the highway road reflectors as possible! To achieve this, Luke had the truck body dropped 3.5 inches thus closing up any light gaps under his ride.

To help with the body work, Luke summoned Ed Cain of E.C. Designs. Body work was started by shaving the doors, tailgate handle, mirrors, bumper signals, hood squirters, antenna, door-mounted mirrors, gas door, and the stock cowl vents. The tailgate was molded in and the bed also received custom wheel tubs and a custom floor. The fuel door was moved to the inside of the bed. Finishing off the rear of this wicked mini, are a set of frenched in led taillights, frenched in third brake light, and a molded in roll pan. On the nose, a custom hood was installed along with a billet phantom grille, lower valance grille, and a set of oval billet mirrors.

With the body sanded and smoothed to perfection, it was time to apply an eye catching paint job. Luke likes the mixture of cool and warm colors, so he chose vanilla cream and sunset orange pearl paint. To accomplish this task, Luke called upon the skills of custom painter, Jeff Wilder and custom flame specialist, Ian “sketch” Hawkins. With the combination of their skills, a nice two-tone mixture was laid upon the metal, with sunset orange pearl on vanilla cream, which is broken up in a sunset orange pearl flame pattern design. On the inside of the bed, another set of flames were laid to rest on the custom made flooring, but this time in vanilla cream. The way the flames were laid makes the flame pattern on this truck kind of shift and therefore stand out.

The exterior of the "Toy Cruiser" was ready for the shows, but inside the cockpit wasn’t. Luke and Ella decided to make the interior blend in with the exterior. To do this, a comfortable combination of tan tweed and black leather were chosen. The floor was covered in black carpet, and the dash and headliner were covered in quality tan tweed. The seats were also covered in tan tweed, but with the addition of black leather inserts. Finishing off the interior adjustments is a Grant GT steering wheel wrapped in carbon fiber and a Kenwood AM/FM CD head unit.

Luke and Ella’s truck is one cool mini and probably gains the attention of many show spectators and judges alike, not to mention local law enforcement, but in the process this mini-truck has also caught the attention of one of our favorite auto clubs, Acrophobia. At the time of this writing, Luke and Ella’s truck is one of the newest pledges to Acrophobia and we say hats off to their new found membership and to the "Toy Cruiser"!
