From east coast to west coast, here are snap shots of ESM's readers' rides!

ESM readers' rides!

If you just can't stand it and want to give your method of transportation a little attention, you can submit at least three color quality photos of your ride, that are in focus and well lit, to ESM and we will gladly post it in the next issue. Please shoot and send photos of your auto ONLY (no people, pets, Polaroids, or printouts). It is important that you include a detailed description of the mods that have been performed on your ride, including any interesting stories you may have. Contact ESM for more information, otherwise send your photos to: Elite Streets Magazine, Readers Rides', P.O. Box 1415, Hendersonville, TN 37077-1415.

(NOTE: Due to the high volume of mail that we receive, we are unable to return photographs.)

Now here is a super cool '55 T-Bird! Owner Richard Miller knows that he may have ticked off a few "purists", but when it comes to custom autos... who cares! Being different is what matters and if that means you have to hack up 100 '55 T-Birds... so be it! Anyway, Richard spared no expense during the build up of what used to be his brother's car which he has converted to a hot rod. Now, when most people give us details on their rides, most start with the exterior and work inward to the engine, but not Richard! He immediately starts with where all the fun is, the power plant, which consists of a 292 Y block bored .060 over TRW forged pistons, Holman & Moody #882 cam, lightweight valve train, heads ported, Factory 2-4 intake & carb setup... thanks to Terry Haun of Clovis, New Mexico. The rest of the car consists of Granada spindles, 11" disc brakes, sway bars front and back, Cobra R wheels, rack & pinion steering setup, telescopic column, and a World Class T-5 tranny behind the Y-block. The awesome flame work was done by "8 Ball", Rick Mayo, of Clovis New Mexico and word has it that Richard gets nothing but whoops and hollers and thumbs up any time he takes his hot rod for a spin. Yep, Ric and as you might have guessed the ESM staff is a whooping and hollering, too!

Dave Sampson of Moorestown, New Jersey sent these pictures to us of his beautiful 1967 Camaro RS/SS. This car is in its original state which makes it a very valuable ride! For starters the car has its original AM Radio, Hideaway Headlights, Mint Black Paint, black Vinyl Top, and the body is all metal which has never rusted nor has it ever received any dings! Speckle paint in all Metal Trunk, Has Steel Cowl hood, Interior is original and in mint condition. As Dave puts it, this car is VERY, VERY FAST. Yeah, considering its power plant consists of a 350 Chevy Worked Small Block that lays down 425 horsies... we would say so! Rolling stock consists of the factory Wheels with GM Center caps with BFG TA Rubber laying down the traction. As a final note, Dave says his car is "...not for the Weak Hearted!" Considering the ride... we agree!

Now here is a rare find! Matthew from Las Vegas, Nevada sent these pictures in of his 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT which has been totally rebuilt and, by the sounds of it, is probably in better than its original just-off-the-showroom-floor condition! For starters, matthew decided to give the power plant one hell of an upgrade by installing a 1996 LT1 Corvette crate motor complete with fuel injection from GM, which makes it run strong and smooth. The exterior was treated with a custom IRM side body molding kit and the skin was covered in House of Color-Candy Brandywine Paint. In the handling department, Held Motorsports custom Slalom Front handling package was installed which includes: tubular front cross member and upper and lower control arms, dropped spindles and bearing carriers, 1 inch sway bar, and Carrera coil overs. Out back, a Custom Slalom Rear Handling Package was also installed which includes: tubular control arms, "bump steer"correction kit, Bilstein coil overs, and heavy sway bar. To slow those ponies down when hitting those tight corners, custom 13" rotors with Wildwood 4 piston calipers were installed at the four corners. In the wheel department, Matt decided to strap on a set of 17 inch Valeo wheels under each fender with Nitto 235/45/17 meats. The light gray/charcoal interior consists of all leather and carpeting, with a custom headliner, custom firewall, and custom visors. The interior was also treated with Dynomat to dampen any road noise. Matt also noted that the total price tag for the two-year build up is right around 40 large!
