Approximately 200 high end classic and sport truck owners turned Veterans Boulevard and the Executive Inn Rivermont parking lot, in Owensboro, Kentucky, into a shining sea of freshly waxed paint Friday and Saturday for the Hot Rod Trucks Show. This show is a resurrection of the highly successful truck show held in Owensboro, Kentucky during the 1990's. The show boasted big vendors and big magazine coverage and delivered all including nearly perfect weather! I say the weather was nearly perfect due to the heat, otherwise the sun was shining and you couldn't ask for better cooperation from mother nature.
Those who entered this year's truck show were all fighting for their shot at the big time and for various awards. There were twelve spots in the famed "Dirty Dozen," and seven award categories; the covetted titles of Top Truck, Top Classic Truck, Top Sports Truck, Top Truck Builder, Best Paint, Best Engine, and Best Interior. In addition to the trophies, cash prizes of over $7,000 was given out to the top 6 award winners!
So, if you missed this year's show, hang tight and visit the Hot Rod Trucks website for information on the 2006 show! Until next year...
