This year the All Chevy/GMC Truck Show had a change in venue. Based on the rising hotel fees in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Charlie and the Autoshows.cc crew decided to move the show further east into beautiful Maggie Valley, North Carolina. It is unfortunate the weather spoiled some of the show's plans, but overall it was a good weekend. The Maggie Valley community was simply awesome and greeted all custom show truckers with open arms... in other words, without the threat of constant law enforcement harassment.
The statement: "Maggie Valley is simply a blessed area being hugged by the mountains" is a very true statement indeed. ESM pulled in after midnight on Friday, so we missed out on all of the scenery. When we awoke on Saturday morning, we found ourselves cradled between tall, majestic mountains. Adding to the scenery were near perfect blue skies, sunshine, puffy white clouds, and, of course, 150+
GMC/Chevy show trucks. When entering the festival grounds spectators and show participants were greeted by the Anton Chevrolet crew, this year's show sponsor. Anton Chevrolet brought out several of their vehicles that had been spiffed up by Rocky Ridge Conversions, as well as a few of their vehicles such as the SS-R which will be out of production this year. Near center stage, throughout the day, spectators had a chance to witness some fascinating chainsaw art by Jeremy Buckner. If you have never witnessed someone make a bear out of a block of wood and a chainsaw, then you are truly missing something "unique"... to say the least! We look forward to a bigger show next year and hopefully better weather. Be sure to check out the Autoshows.cc website
