Cleaning a nice set of custom polished wheels is a process that a lot of auto enthusiasts complain about. It takes hours and in some cases, even days. It just depends on the last time you gave a little TLC to those alloy rollers. Alas your problems may be finally solved! Zoops, a company that specializes in billet interior, body, and engine accessories, has created ZoopSeal which can help out in your never ending chore of regular wheel maintenance. ZoopSeal is a hybrid ceramic sealer... not a polish, cleaner, or a wax. ZoopSeal only offers protection against OXIDATION by impregnating into the pores. ZoopSeal becomes one with the metal and seals off the breathing process. This instantly stops OXIDATION and therefore solves those wheel polishing woes. The best part is that ZoopSeal lasts for 2-3 years and keeps those alloys shiny and show room bright! ZoopSeal works on raw aluminum, aluminum, brass, chrome, anodized aluminum, and stainless steel. just to name a few. ZoopSeal protects the metal from dulling and sudden oxidation immediately after being applied. For chrome rollers, ZoopSeal can prevent chipping, peeling, and yellowing of chrome. The sealer will not repair any cracks or scratches because it is meant to simply seal the metal from the harmful elements of Mother Nature. One kit provides enough sealant to cover seventy-five square feet, which is equivalent to four wheels and an engine.
We have summarized the process of applying the seal to a set of wheels below. Follow the steps listed below and it should take roughly 1-2 hours depending upon the shape of your wheels to begin with.
Note: Follow steps 1-4 on a high shined polished surface. Non-polished surfaces such as: satin or milled follow steps 1-3.
STEP 1 Pre-Mixing of Part A (3 oz) and Part B (1 oz).
Simply pour Part B into Part A's bottle. This becomes ZoopSeal and a total of 4- ounces. When mixed the catalyzing process begins, this is complete within 2 hours. You may see some change in the color, as the mixture continues to blend together, this is normal.
You may choose to mix less, a MEASUREMENT CHART is provided. Be sure to follow the instructions precisely, remember it is a 3 to 1 ratio. You may use the 2-ounce measurement cup we provide or a clean GLASS measurement cup to mix Part A and Part B together.
STEP 2 Cleaning the parts/ products with Zoops Concentrate Cleaner.
(this applies to old or new parts)
Use a pale filled with 15- ounces of water with 1- ounce of Zoops Concentrate cleaner. Clean the parts/ products as you normally would. This procedure is essential, you need to clean the entire product in order to remove the excess polishing chemicals that are on the surface. Rinse the cleaner off with water so it doesn't dry on the surface. When done cleaning wipe off with a lent free towel making sure no water is left on the part.
STEP 3 Applying ZoopSeal
Using the lent free cloths we provide apply a small amount of the mixed ZoopSeal onto the cloth, and wipe on the ZoopSeal LIGHTLY in one direction until the entire surface is covered with ZoopSeal. Be sure to cover the back surface along with any holes. If you see a noticeable thick layer, you have applied too much ZoopSeal onto the surface. Simply take a dry portion of the application towel and in one direction lightly swipe the towel over the surface to soak up any excess amount.
Allow ZoopSeal to dry completely. Continue to Step 4 if you have a highly shined product.
STEP 4 Using Zoops Final Seal.
This last step is used on aluminum, stainless steel or brass when the surface needs to reflect a high quality shined look. The purpose of this step is to remove the transparent film left on top of the parts surface. Basically, all the impurities that were inside the pores have been pushed out from ZooopSeal.
Use a soft polishing cloth to apply Zoops Final Seal onto the part.
While the Zoops Final Seal is still wet apply the wax onto the surface in a circular motion (we suggest you apply this in small sections, DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO DRY ON TOP OF ZOOPSEAL). Be careful not to rub hard, as that method could result with a scratched surface. Continue applying the Zoops Final Seal as many times as you need to, in order to remove the impurities left on the surface. Remember, all you are doing is waxing away the impurities, so your cloth will have black residue on it. This step is not removing the ZoopSeal. ZoopSeal has impregnated itself into the pores and the only way to remove ZoopSeal would be to use an aggressive polish or lacquer thinner.
Once the process is completed the part will have a curing process of 7 - 10 days, in which you may use the part. During the curing process only wash the product with water. Please follow the "Maintenance Required" section on the back of the box.
