Elite Streets Magazine - The All Encompassing Custom Auto Enthusiast Magazine

Refresh, Restart, Renew By J.R. Janicek

CHANGE. God knows we heard Obama say this numerous times during his campaign in 2008 and I have personally come to hate the word, but I must digress on the political talk because that isn't what Elite Streets Magazine, nor what this editorial is all about! Instead, I am speaking more of a sudden reset of things that are in forward motion, that is, this online rag has to be refreshed, restarted... renewed.

Right around mid-2007 I, the editor, lost enthusiasm for the whole issue publication process and I have decided that isn't fair to my advertisers, features, show promoters, and more importantly you-the readers! I have decided either the magazine needs to go away, or it needs to be renewed in some positive way. Given this, the 2009 year will only have three issues (January-April, May-August, and September-December) and the 2010 year is really up in the air while ESM enables a smooth restart-a mulligan of sorts, a push of the good ole' reset button. Regardless of what happens in 2010, the magazine will have a new format in 2011 which is part of ESM's "refresh, restart, renew" initiative.

As ESM begins to implement changes to the magazine format during 2010, publications for 2010 are rather "iffy." However, ESM will still be actively looking for features at shows and doing our usual show coverage which will be placed online in a new photo gallery as a supplement to the magazine, which at year end will be paused for an indefinite period of time. So, in 2010, when ESM covers a show, the coverage will be up within a week-not months! Also, ESM will still update the events calendar, so show promoters are encouraged to continue submitting their show information.

This was a hard decision, but one that was necessary for the longevity of ESM. I hope the readers will understand this and ESM looks forward to many more years of covering shows and shooting features of the custom cars and trucks we have all come to enjoy.

Until next time... keep it legal and keep it safe.
